Some weddings look better on camera than others. Let me explain why that happens. The two things that make all the difference are light and sound.
We had experience with DJs who wouldn’t cooperate with our photography and videography team, which led to missed speeches and poor quality sound recordings. We worked in venues without disco-lights, where the dances appeared dull and flat. We captured ceremonies in spots that had the most unflattering lighting in both color, intensity and angle, and we even captured the most emotional vows with flickering light (something that’s not visible to the human eye, but will show on camera).
While good sound is crucial for professional video editing, good lighting is essential for both – photo and video. No matter how good the photography and video equipment and skills are, if the lighting is poor, the quality of the visuals will suffer.
This is something wedding photography and videography clients don’t usually consider when booking their venues and DJ’s and why should they? We believe it’s every couple’s right to celebrate their wedding wherever they like. But as photographers and videographers we know: our work is only as good as the light and sound we work with. This gave us an idea that it should be our initiative to offer these valuable conditions to our current and perspective clients.
