Arabic Wedding Photography & Videography

Middle eastern cultures and traditions

Apart from Tara wedding’s evident expertise in western culture and weddings, our passion for capturing the true form of love transcends any single culture. What truly sets us apart from the rest is that throughout the years of experience covering weddings, our team attained an extensive knowledge of traditions originating from the Far East to middle eastern and African cultures. Each member of the Tara Weddings team has been exposed to the said cultures time and time again.

Consequently, we have become accustomed to the various cultural cues, and boundaries, which allows us to capture raw emotions beautifully with the utmost respect to the event and its participants. We believe that it is imperative to preserve genuine emotion in your wedding photos, and this is only possible by being highly aware of what is going on around us, and diligently be looking for the right moments to capture.

We have a thorough understanding of Arabic Muslim marital practices like the reading of a Surah from the Quran during the wedding or “Nikah”, followed by covering the “Khutba” (engagement) party, henna party, and finally the “Zaffe, where the “Dabkeh” dance is performed by the groom and his men upon the bride and groom’s entry into the reception in some instances, and then rounding off the event with the ululation by the women present in the reception to commemorate the wedding.

The Tara weddings team is equally aware about christian Arab weddings as well. We have full knowledge of the practices prior to the big day. The engagement party after the “Tulba”, followed by the “Radwa” at the bride’s house shortly before the wedding where the women from both sides of the families carry out the henna tradition as well. Not to mention the “Sahra”, a smaller profile party a day or two before the actual wedding day. On the big day itself, we accompany the bride and groom from the break of dawn till midnight. Interestingly enough, we also have experience many “Ferdahs”, a family only exclusive event held at the bride’s house.

In summary, the following the benefits of working with us.

  • Excellent knowledge of ethnic cultures originating from the Middle East
  • The Tara weddings team know which people, and moments are important, thus making us efficient when taking photos
  • We capture the key moments without interfering with any rituals in any way
  • Years of experience covering Arab weddings
  • Our team is aware of the religious boundaries in order to maintain the utmost respect for culture.

We started small, and now look at us, making all these people happy with our services!
Our wedding photographers and videographers are nearly invisible on the day of the event, but we sure do get all the attention after, once we submit our work. We are proud to display nearly perfect scores across all of our reviewing platforms including Google and WeddingWire. See for yourself!

Paul and his team were amazing! We booked him for a full day and I have to say to say that he made me feel at ease throughout the whole process which I thought would be chaotic. I thought that I would have to tell them every bit of information about what was going to happen and what to look for during the wedding, but I was pleased to find out the team had prior knowledge and experience about Lebanese culture. We were met with a huge setback on the day of the wedding as it had started to rain during out photoshoot at the park after our ceremony. However, Paul showed his excellent improvisational skills and worked around that problem very well. I had done a lot of research trying to find the right wedding coverage team and it would be an understatement to say that it paid off!

My and my husband are not exactly camera friendly, as we’re both super shy and conscious whenever we’ve been put in front of a camera. We’ve never been the type to flaunt our looks of pose for the camera, due to our conservative muslim upbringing and Middle Eastern roots. My husband especially, since he had never been subjected to essentially model for the camera. That said, Paul did an excellent job directing us during our photoshoot. Ali, my husband, was super stiff and awkward at first but we were eased into the photoshoot without feeling self conscious or not knowing what to do as Paul was in constant communication with us in terms of how we were supposed to pose for him. He showed true respect for our culture and religion and did not make us pose in any way which would be deemed as vulgar in our religion.

Hi, my name is Amnah and I felt obligated to leave a review after having experienced Paul and his team cover my wedding. They showed up at my house at 7 am on the dot as planned. I was not really looking forward to the idea of having a team of photographers and videographers document me getting ready and look graceful while doing it, but I was super happy with the results which I got to see after. I was pleased to know that they were knowledgeable about out customs during the wedding, and before and after it, as Paul was confirming with me what all he should be on the lookout for. I just wanted to say that it was a pleasure working with you and wanted to thank you for beautifully capturing the day of my wedding which will forever live with me!

The Tara weddings team were simply excellent on my wedding day. From knowing my muslim culture very well, to interacting with us in the most respectful and charming manner where we felt at ease the whole time. They are good at their craft, and they go beyond themselves in order to make sure they are not missing any details. We got the both a photography and videography package. We were previously going to hire separate photographers and videographers in order to have the best of both worlds, but having that from the same company really made the look of our photos and videos look like the same theme, which was very pleasing, and there wasn’t any headache of having to deal with two separate entities. I am going to recommend Tara Weddings to all my friends!
